Why do tracks and sills get so dirty?
Tracks are channels that catch everything. Dust, pollen, dead insects, moisture, and debris that blows in whenever a window is opened. Over time it compacts into grime that doesn't come off with a quick wipe.
How often should tracks and sills be detailed?
Once or twice a year is enough for most homes. If you have older windows, lots of trees nearby, or windows that see heavy use, more frequent detailing helps prevent buildup from compacting.
How do you clean the tracks without damaging them?
We use a combination of soft brushes, detailing tools, and appropriate cleaning solutions to break up buildup and extract it without scratching the track finish or gaskets.
